Pretty as a Pear

By: Nia Braccidiferro

I first used the pen tool to draw the lines which shaped the leaf and the pear. It turned out jagged in the beginning, so I ended up rounding out every anchor point to make it look neater. On one layer, I draw the pear shape outline and on another, I drew the outline for the leaf. I placed the leaf layer over the pear body shape to create an overlapping overlay. I wanted to give the design a more simplistic look, so I stuck with gradient swatches that were in the green and teal family. I chose a darker green for the leaf and a lighter one for the pear body. I also added a darker gradient path to the original swatch to give it a more three-dimensional feel.
