The Art of Colorful Businesses

By: Nia Braccidiferro

I rather enjoyed working on this project. Since I’ve learned new methods of incorporating the pen tool into my illustrator work, I was very excited to do this assignment. I knew I wanted to do a mix of logos that would challenge my skill level. I decided to trace multiple logos that were circular. I have never been good at drawing or tracing circles for that matter. I chose the Cici’s Pizza logo, Starbucks logo, Baskin Robbins logo, and the Adidas logo. I chose the Adidas logo because I wanted to practice drawing shapes again. I began with selecting the pen tool and clicking around the logo until I finished that particular area. I continued this process with the other areas and logos. Once I finished tracing the logos, I had to fill the objects with color. I wanted to choose colors that weren’t exactly the same ones as the original logos to switch things up. I selected colors that looked pleasing together. I filled the Baskin Robbins logo with blues, Cici’s with greens, reds, and yellows, Adidas with purples and Starbucks with greens. After I finished with each individual logo, I had to place them next to each other on a separate document. I created a new document in Illustrator and added each logo pdf. I placed each one down with space in between to make it pleasing to the eye. I am particularly proud of how this project turned out since I was unsure of my abilities in the beginning.
