On Halloween Night...

I really loved working and making this project. I had the opportunity to incorporate pictures into a whole new photograph. I chose to center my composition around the season of fall since it is my favorite season. I first looked up photos on Google that were free to use without any copyright laws against them. I found a base picture, which was of a pumpkin patch. Then I found one of a jack-o-lantern, bats, a witch on a broomstick, a moon, a dog, a cat, and a scarecrow. I wanted to recreate a pumpkin patch scene on Halloween night. Once I found all of the photos I wanted to use, I uploaded them into Photoshop on a 12 x 12 document. It ended up having a resolution of 150 and RGB color. I first added the jack-o-lantern and placed it in almost the center of the base picture. I added a few shadows with the drop shadow tool and the brush tool with a black color. I adjusted the brightness and the exposure to make it look spookier and add to the aesthetic that I wanted. I added a slight glow to the surrounding pumpkins, so the scene would look more realistic. I repeated this process with every image until I found the finished products that I had originally desired. I then selected and pasted pieces of grass in front of the pumpkin to make it look like it was placed in the grass. The trick of this was selecting, masking and color coordinating each image to make it look like they belonged with one another. After I did all of this, I had completed my first composition and was ready to start my second version. I selected and copied the images that I had originally masked and transferred them onto a new document that was also 12 x 12 and had a resolution of 150 and RGB color. I rearranged them so they wouldn’t be in the same places as in the first composition. I made a few images larger and a few smaller. I ended up being proud of how both compositions turned out. I am grateful for the techniques that I have acquired throughout my life and in this class.
