Three Sunflowers
By: Nia Braccidiferro
For this Photoshop piece, I chose sunflowers to be the focus. This is because they are my favorite type of flower and they are visually appealing. I enjoyed editing these pictures because this is the first time, I’ve made an edit like this. To find these pictures, I had to find pictures on Google that were free to use and ones that were relatively the same size and resolution. Once I found the photos, I uploaded each one into Photoshop and adjusted the image mode/size, so each image was in RGB Color, had a resolution of 72 and were 2x2. When I finished that part of the process, I created a new document. I added each picture separately and placed them in different places on the document. With the image on the left, I added a pixilated filter. This allowed the colors to appear more vibrant and bolder as well as giving the physical image a grainy feel. It turned out to be a great contrast to the other filters. The filter on the middle image made the image appear to be affected by a watercolor tool. I also turned down the saturation on the image to contrast against the colors of the adjacent images. The last filter I applied on the edit was to the image on right. I added a minimalist filter, so only the most prominent parts were visible. I am actually quite proud of this edit, because, like I said before, I haven’t had much experience editing collages and using filters on Photoshop and this gave me the perfect opportunity to practice my craft.
